Theives and Liars
After staying at the Wasa Lake Motel this summer and having an unauthorized charge appear on my credit card, I felt it necessary to warn others from making the same mistake I did. First, I recommend that if you do stay at this motel, DO NOT pay by credit card. I can almost guarantee you that an extra charge will appear on your bill as it did on mine. I also suggest that you go over the room with the owners before AND after your stay documenting any damage so you do not get charged for something you did not do! Let me briefly explain my experience... I paid for my room using a credit card only to find an extra $50 charge on my statement. When I called to inquire about this charge I was informed that I had broken the blinds (which were already broken when I arrived) and that I had smoked in my room and used air freshener to cover the smell. Now I, like most travelers, do not carry air freshener with me when traveling and seeing as I smoked every cigarette outside, was stunned when Kathrina explained the extra charge to me. When I tried discussing this issue with her, all she could say was, "no discussion" and proceeded to hang up on me repeatedly. I suppose when you run such a cheap motel (no phone, no internet, not even a clock radio), you need to scam unsuspecting vacationers any way you can to help pay for your retirement! I therefore felt it my obligation to enlighten anyone who is thinking about staying at this dump to seriously rethink their plans and stay anywhere but there. I hope this review saves anyone else from inadvertently contributing to their retirement fund!!!
